On Hold
The Celsius Effect is being put on hold for the time being. I am not able to reveal any information at the moment but hold is not always a bad thing.

Script Revisions
This next week I will begin the next draft of the script. A lot of great comments were made at the read through I had last week and it should make the movie that much more exciting.
Some things I will be changing are: character intentions, ways characters emulate power and manipulation, character backgrounds. The attempt is to make the characters more unique and to allow the audience to develop compassion for certain characters.
At a Q&A screening of WATCHMEN with Zach Snyder I heard him make a really good point. You want to create a character that the audience feels attached to and has compassion for and begins to trust. Then when the character reaches their breaking point the audience will feel it that much more, almost feeling betrayed by the character they have grown to like so much. In The Celsius Effect that idea can be of extreme value.

Silent But Not Without Motion
Things have been quite a few months with the progress of The Celsius Effect. I am writing a feature screenplay for a producer friend while also working on the script for The Celsius Effect.
I did the first pass of rewrites on the script and am going to be doing a read-through of the script on Saturday, March 7th. I have gathered together a group of actors to read for the different parts and people to sit in and listen to give me notes on things that could be done to make it better.
I also submitted for a competition from Netflix - http://www.netflix.com/findyourvoice. The semi-finalist will be announced on May 1st and the winner could potential win enough money and services to make a feature film.
I have also been putting together some ideas for the cast. Eventually I will start by contacting casting directors to see if that is a cast they think they could get. I am also putting together some One Sheets of ideal cast for each character. I will post those soon.
Know that this list may change through out and is listed in no particular order. They are just possible cast that I think would be a good fit for the parts.

Tools For Use
I am a Final Draft fan when it comes to script writing software but was introduced to program called Celtx - http://www.celtx.com. While the script writing part of it may not be quite as intuitive as Final Draft and may take a little bit longer it does have some really cool features that Final Draft does not have.
Celtx is much more indie filmmaker friendly. It provides options for not only writing but adding story boards and production schedules as well as announcing your work to a community. I used to make fun of it a bit but retract all those statements for the simple reason of "Shooting Schedule, Storyboard/Shot List Creator and Call Sheets (although I have some very high requirements for my call sheets)."
Oh and did I mention the program is completely free?
The Celsius Effect will still be in development but there is the chance that another film will go into production before it does. Hopefully be ready in time for a 2009 Halloween Release.
